I received this note on the life of inside Mylar storm windows:
Gary,
I read about your double Mylar storm windows. I built Mylar storm windows for our house 25 years ago and am still using them. A couple I had to replace the Mylar because our dog punched holes with her claws. I used 5/4 by 4 clear fir ripped in half, which gave me 1” by 1.75” wood. I built the frames about ¼ “ smaller than the window and used foam weatherstrip all around, and doublestick tape to attach the Mylar. I think I used 3 or 4 mil.
Warren
Thanks very much to Warren for providing this.
